Shawn Mendes was open about ending his career in music.
In a How’s Life interview with John Mayer, the 26-year-old musician acknowledged that he “absolutely” considered permanently ending his career.
Mendes responded, “I have no idea,” when asked what his backup plan was during the interview. Really, I gave it some serious thought.
It would be strange for everyone at first, but ultimately people would just grow accustomed to it, he added. “I actually took a small therapy course and I was like, ‘I might just become a therapist in a small town,'” he said.
The Senorita hitmaker also discussed dating again after postponing his 2022 Wonder World Tour due to mental health issues.
