Ulema from a variety of schools of thought responded to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for a “do-or-die” protest in Islamabad and the events that followed as tensions increased throughout the nation by saying that the political leadership should act sensibly because the politics of protests and sit-ins were detrimental to the nation.
Chairman Maulana Asim Makhdoom presided over a Kul Masalik Ulema Board meeting in Lahore on Sunday. Allama Muhammad Badr, Agha Saghir Abbas Virk, Qari Khalid Mahmood, and Allama Mohsin Golrawi were among those present at the conference.
According to the experts, if the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and members of PTI founder Imran Khan’s party can meet together.
