Orya Maqbool Jan, a former bureaucrat and broadcaster, was taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Wing on Thursday from his DHA-Phase-6 home.
Orya Maqbool Jan is the subject of a case that the FIA filed under the Cyberterrorism Act.
Orya Maqbool Jan was physically remanded to the FIA for four days.
Maqbool Jan’s attorney, Azhar Siddique, verified the detention and stated that the FIA cybercrime wing made the arrest.
He asserted that they are not receiving the FIR’s specifics, maintained that the FIA lacks jurisdiction over this matter, and promised to make a compelling case against it.
