Warner Bros. has not disclosed whether or not the Dune trilogy will be released. However, the sci-fi franchise’s director, Denis Villeneuve, firmly stated that, should it happen, the third entry would be his final picture.
The acclaimed director declared, “‘Dune Messiah’ should be the last ‘Dune’ movie for me,” in an interview with Time Magazine.
Denis had hinted that the writing for Dune Messiah was still in progress. “The screenplay is nearly complete, but it is not quite complete. It’ll require some time. Making a third film is a fantasy that, in my opinion, would make perfect sense.”
In a similar vein, when asked if she would be interested in playing Chani again, Zenadaya expressed her desire to rejoin the franchise.
“Are we going to crash? Naturally, she said to Fandango. “I say yes every time Denis calls. I can’t wait to find out what occurs. When I initially started reading “Messiah,” I thought, “Whoah, I’m just filming the first movie.” Just let me return to the first one.
“It’s so much to take in, but there’s no better hands with better care and love for it than Denis,” she said.
