According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), it collected Rs1,106 billion in taxes in September 2024 instead of the targeted Rs1,098 billion, an increase of Rs8 billion.
The FBR experienced a major setback in the first quarter of the fiscal year, falling short of the July-September objective by Rs90 billion, despite this accomplishment.
The FBR failed to collect the targeted amount of Rs2,652 billion in taxes during the first quarter, collecting only Rs2,562 billion. Nonetheless, there was a Rs521 billion gain in tax collections over the same time previous year.
Additionally, the FBR stated that it issued refunds of Rs146.5 billion in the first quarter, of which Rs14.8 billion was issued in September alone.
