I agreed to be on this card when Eddie Hearn called, even before I knew who my opponent was.
The sound of it was almost too lovely to be real. I wanted to wait to get overly enthusiastic until I was positive it was true.
But before I knew it, I was in Bulgaria shooting a big-budget movie trailer-style commercial video.
In the video, Eddie describes me as a boxing gym janitor who “cleans the floor” with a fighter who treats me disrespectfully.
I now consider myself to be a bit of an actor. Denzel Washington was DMing me a lot, asking if I might be in his upcoming movie. I replied, “hold on, I’ve got a big fight coming up, I’ll get back to you” .
All jokes aside, that’s precisely why I enjoy the five-versus-five format so much: it allows me to do new things like being on a movie set, rehearsing, and changing costumes.
That is something I never imagined I would encounter in my job. Although I’ve performed in several major UK shows, it’s a very different scene.
