Christopher Rogers was in the bottom of a pool for five minutes before a rescue attempt was made, according to testimony given during the prosecution of three lifeguards for the swimmer’s death.
In April 2017, 20-year-old Mr. Rogers passed away while swimming at the Orchard Leisure Centre in Armagh.
On duty the night Christopher died were William Holden, 26, of Unshinagh Lane in Portadown, James Monaghan, 26, of Folly Lane in Armagh, and Cathal Peter Forrest McVeigh, 35, of Dunamony Road in Dungannon.
They were accused of “being an employee, [they] failed to take reasonable care for the health and safety of other persons who may be affected by [their] acts or omissions at work” .
