The government is cracking down harder on the smuggling of vital goods including oil, bread, sugar, and fertilizer. The goals of the anti-trafficking initiatives are economic stability and public safety.
Authorities confiscated 0.138 million gallons of Iranian oil, 30,361 cigarette stocks, 103 cloth bags, 3 metric tons of sugar, and 61 metric tons of fertilizer from various parts of the nation between June 23 and 30. Significant outcomes from the procedures were obtained in several cities:
- Multan: 0.014 million gallons of Iranian oil, 1,280 cigarette stocks, and 8 cloth bags
- Peshawar: 0.026 million liters of Iranian oil and 27,616 stocks of cigarettes
- Quetta: 0.060 million liters of Iranian oil, 36 fabric bags, and 1,342 cigarette stocks
- Karachi: 0.038 million liters of Iranian oil, 59 cloth bags, and 123 stocks of cigarettes
