By significantly altering the regulations pertaining to car registration and number plates, the capital city government has chosen to revoke the registration of automobiles bearing non-standard plates.
A notification stated that re-registration fees for vehicles under 1,000cc would be Rs5,000, and for vehicles beyond 1,000cc, the amount would be Rs 10,000.
A re-registration charge of Rs 20,000 would be required for vehicles larger than 2,000cc, whereas a motorcycle would only need to pay Rs 1,000.
If the infraction is committed again, there will be five times the usual cost.
