More than seven months after the disastrous Gaza war, Israel reacted angrily when three European countries announced on Wednesday that they would recognize a Palestinian state.
On May 28, Ireland, Norway, and Spain announced their formal recognition of the State of Palestine.
The plan is fiercely opposed by Israel, which claims that it is “rewarding terrorism” in the wake of Hamas’s historic attack on Israel on October 7.
Israel announced that it was bringing back its ambassadors to Norway, Ireland, and Sweden for “urgent consultations,” and it was anticipated that it would follow suit with Spain.
