PESHAWAR: As a local defense strategy, the Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga on Sunday suggested creating a “Pashtun Milli Lashkar,” an unarmed army to defend Pashtun populations in the area, according to The News.
The three-day jirga, which was proposed among other options at its end, will include 3,000 youngsters from each district and political party to form the Lashkar.
During the concluding session, the leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), Manzoor Pashteen, delivered a statement regarding this. Pashteen also recommended setting up a committee whose role it would be to oversee resource extraction across the Pashtun belt, which runs from Quetta to Kohistan and Chitral.
