KARACHI: The return of sea breezes has allowed the port city to finally breathe a sigh of relief after several days of oppressive heat, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Monday.
The PMD also showed that the sea winds are blowing at an 18 km/h rate right now.
The Met Office did note, however, that the weather is predicted to stay hot and muggy for the next 24 hours, with highs of between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius.
In the meantime, the air’s humidity content is 70%.
The weather agency reports that the lowest temperature in the last 24 hours was 32°C.
Additionally, weather specialist Jawad Memon stated on Sunday that although the air pressure in the Arabian Sea is low due to the hot and humid weather, this is expected to change very soon.
Memon said sea clouds and the potential for “drizzle in the night and morning in different areas in the coming days” will soon return to the city with the reintroduction of sea breezes.
A brief period of rain provided a little reprieve from the extreme heat that has been plaguing Sindh, the province capital, in recent days.
