“My wife and I have been deeply shocked to learn of the absolutely horrific incident in Southport today,” the man stated.
“We send our most heartfelt condolences, prayers and deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who have so tragically lost their lives, and to all those affected by this truly appalling attack.”
Following a stabbing at a community center in Southport, north of Liverpool, on Monday morning, two children have died and nine more have been injured.
Six of the nine injured children are critically ill; all nine were stabbed.
In an attempt to shield the kids, two adults are also critically ill.
The Prince and Princess of Wales added in a different statement that as parents, they “could not begin to imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through”.
“We send our love, thoughts, and prayers to all those involved in this horrifying and heinous attack,” William and Kate continued.
