The Oasis songwriter’s photo, captured by Zoe Law, will be shown as part of the gallery’s Legends exhibition on November 29.
When the exhibition closes on March 2 of the following year, his portrait will be added to the gallery’s permanent collection.

Actor Orlando Bloom, England World Cup champion Sir Bobby Charlton, and a previously unreleased photo of Canadian actress Kim Cattrall will all be on exhibit in addition to his monochromatic headshot.
The London-based photographer Ms. Law went on, “It is the utmost honor that my portrait of the legendary Noel Gallagher has been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery—a lasting legacy that all portrait photographers and artists dream of.”
