The first fast will take place on Sunday, March 2, according to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which declared on Friday that Pakistan had not seen the Ramadan moon.
To view the Ramadan moon, the committee convened in Peshawar under the direction of its chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
Following the meeting, Maulana Azad told a press conference that no national testimony regarding the moon sighting had been received.
Following the lack of testimony regarding the moon sighting at several zonal committee meetings held in their respective areas, the decision was made.
Tomorrow, Saudi Arabia will observe its first fast.
In the meantime, Saudi Arabia declared that the holy month of Ramadan had begun in the kingdom when the crescent of the new lunar month was sighted.
