Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N President and prime minister-in-waiting, has described the PTI’s letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as another anti-national move by the party.
“After the cipher, this letter is another proof of the PTI’s anti-state interests,” he said as he arrived at the Parliament House for the first National Assembly session on Thursday morning.
Shehbaz went on to say that there is no question that Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, wants to destroy the country. He regretted and denounced the letter sent to the IMF. “No Pakistani, despite political differences, will resort to anti-national activities,” he went on to say.
PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz stated that democracy had triumphed, and those who obstructed progress had been defeated.
He also said that the economy is being set ablaze, similar to the events of May 9, 2023. However, he stated that these attempts will also fail.
The freshly elected National Assembly’s opening session was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday to induct a new batch of members, who began arriving at Parliament House ahead of schedule.
The freshly elected MNAs will take an oath and sign the rolls. Furthermore, the poll for Lower House speaker and deputy speaker will take place tomorrow, March 1.
