Majed al-Ansari, a spokesman for the foreign ministry, told reporters that drafts of a potential agreement had been given to both parties and that significant concerns had been settled in recent weeks.
But, as was the case during the previous 15-month conflict, he warned that “the most minor detail” might still jeopardize the process.
The leaders of Hamas said they were happy with how the talks were going. An Israeli official emphasized that “it’s not there yet” but acknowledged that there had been genuine improvement.
