Famous Pakistani author and novelist Bapsi Sidhwa, who wrote the seminal work “Ice Candy Man,” died in Houston, Texas, on Thursday at the age of 86, according to a report from news.
Her brother, Feroze Bhandara, has stated that after three days of mourning rituals, the renowned writer’s final rites will take place in Houston.
On August 11, 1938, Sidhwa was born in Karachi into a well-known Parsi family. She spent a large portion of her life in Lahore, nevertheless, having moving there with her parents just three months after her birth.
‘Ice Candy Man’ by Sidhwa became one of the most acclaimed books in the world and had a big impact on how people around the world saw Pakistani literature.
