LAHORE: Managing Director (MD) Amer Tufail of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) stated on Tuesday that the SNGPL would guarantee gas supply during mealtimes despite the fact that wintertime gas consumption tripled.
In reference to the lack of the item, he said, “The people themselves should cut usage as the commodity has become expensive,” in an interview with News.
Tufail issued a warning over the operation of a gas-sucking compressor, claiming that it was against the law and that it led to mishaps.
Furthermore, he said, restrictions on new gas connections would remain in place even though nearly three million people had yet to submit requests for new connections.
Additionally, the SNGPL MD stated that the company was self-sufficient and did not receive government subsidies.
Gas shortages have been a problem in Pakistan for many years.
