On Saturday, a Pakistan Army soldier who had suffered serious injuries during a landslide clearance operation passed away, accepting martyrdom, while two other soldiers in Chillas also suffered critical injuries.
The Karakoram Highway (KKH) was closed to all traffic on April 4 due to a landslide that occurred close to Gonar Farm in Chillas, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
However, a detachment of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) led by Naib Subedar Khalid and two troops arrived at the scene right away and began the clearance in order to assist the impacted traffic and stranded individuals.
Another slip that was triggered during the clearing process seriously hurt the detachment.
While Lance Naik Azmat and Sepoy Waseem were recovering from severe wounds, the soldier who was killed was identified as Naib Subedar Khalid. He embraced shahadat before passing away from his critical injuries.
“The country is appreciative of their commitment to helping others and their service. The ISPR stated that the Pakistan Army is still dedicated to serving the country in the face of all obstacles.
