The friends and admirers of a well-known trans lady from Saudi Arabia were saddened when she shared her suicide note on X. Millions of people read the statement, which claimed that a lawyer in the US, where she had been attempting to apply for asylum, had convinced her to go back to her family and a nation that would not acknowledge her identity.
According to the news World Service, this man is Bader Alomair, who reportedly served at the Saudi embassy in Washington, DC. He is connected to the contentious returns from the US of a number of other Saudi students, two of whom were subsequently charged with murder while attending the university.
The accusations made throughout our research have not received a response from Mr. Alomair.
