In a three-page ruling during the final hearing on petitions aimed at reducing smog, Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC stated that the uninspected cars ought to be impounded.
With Lahore ranking among the world’s most polluted cities with a “unhealthy” air quality index (AQI), the development occurs as haze continues to choke people in various parts of the nation.
Lahore, a major economic center and home to millions of people, has a lot of cars and a number of factories, which raises the AQI levels.
The district government levied a fine on Sunday.
