In an annual study released Tuesday, the United Nations agency for children cautioned that rapid technological advancement, deteriorating climate change, and demographic shifts might create a dismal future for young people in the middle of the twenty-first century.
In a statement announcing the publication of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund’s (Unicef) annual report, Catherine Russell, executive director, said, “Children are experiencing a myriad of crises, from climate shocks to online dangers, and these are set to intensify in the years to come.”
“Decades of progress, particularly for girls, are under threat.”
One day prior to World Children’s Day, the UN organization for children released the report.
Every year on November 20, people celebrate this day, which was established by the UN in 1954.
