According to a news agency source, people who are eighteen years of age or older will receive the MVA-BN vaccination in two doses spaced four weeks apart.
It also states that the vaccine’s effectiveness against the virus is 76% after the first dosage and 82% after the second.
The fact that the WHO has already deemed monkeypox a public health emergency is noteworthy. There have been 500 recorded deaths from the illness this year, and it has spread to 121 nations.
Monkeypox can be fatal in up to 10% of cases, especially in high-risk groups and those with compromised immune systems.
Five cases of monkeypox have been reported in Pakistan thus far. Travelers from other countries who arrived in Pakistan have been found to have the virus.
