When Willem Dafoe received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame recently, he seemed ecstatic.
Alongside his 2005 bride Giada Colagrande, the actor who portrayed the beloved villain in Spider-Man celebrated this new achievement on Monday.
Prominent figures such as Pedro Pascal, Camila Morrone, Guillermo Del Toro, and Mark Ruffalo also accompanied the 68-year-old actor.
“I just want to say it’s wonderful to be part of this community of artists and entertainers, people that — by sharing their experience, imagining others’ perspectives, telling stories, and musing on what is, was, and most importantly could be,” the American actor began his acceptance speech.
“They foster a sense of intimacy and connection among us, fostering a crucial conversation that is especially necessary in these aloof, technologically-driven, and polarizing times. Therefore, I’m happy to be with people like this, and maybe in some way we’re improving the world,” he said.
“Finally, thank you to my wife Giada Colagrande, who teaches me gratitude and reminds me not to spit on my luck,” Dafoe added, concluding his monologue with a special shout-out to his beloved. He then withdrew from the discussion of the subject.
