ISLAMABAD: The News reported on Sunday that a prominent commander of a banned organization was slain along with his armed gunman after they were ambushed by an attacker on a motorcycle on the road that connects Mangla and Jhelum.
The commander and his guard were killed instantly when the gun attack occurred when Abu Qatal, whose true name was Zia ur Rehman, was driving in his black jeep.
Although there has been no official confirmation of the arrest, sources claimed that the accused attacker was captured shortly after the attack.
He was the most recent victim of an ongoing target-killing campaign by India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the country’s intelligence agency, according to a former close companion of Abu Qatal.
