After his wife, fellow Olympian Melissa Hoskins, was murdered in an automobile accident in Australia, former world champion cyclist Rohan Dennis entered a guilty plea.
On December 30, 2023, Hoskins passed away in the hospital after being hit by a car driven by Dennis outside their Adelaide house.
The 34-year-old pleaded to a lesser charge on Tuesday: one aggravated count of creating the likelihood of damage. He had previously been charged with hazardous driving causing death and driving without due care.
Dennis, who is married to Hoskins and has two children, will be sentenced later.
The events leading up to Hoskins’s death are not well understood.
Dennis, meanwhile, has acknowledged driving an automobile while Hoskins was nearby, knowing that act, as a result of his guilty plea.
