After twenty-four hours on Sunday, cooling efforts were underway to put out a fire that had started in a tissue paper factory in the Hayatabad neighborhood of Peshawar.
According to officials, 80 percent of the plant has been reduced to ashes, causing losses of billions of rupees. They further mentioned that the factory provided employment for about 1,300 workers.
A short circuit caused the fire to start at the Hayatabad Industrial Area on Saturday, quickly spreading throughout the entire factory in a matter of minutes.
According to rescue personnel, the factory building was also damaged by the fire. The building’s roof collapsed as a result of the firefighting operation’s heavy water usage.
