Tanya Liddle, 43, has reportedly “plagued” the region for decades and been detained by Northumbria Police around 400 times.
She has received 171 convictions in all, the most of which are from shoplifting, and she has worn disguises to evade detection.
On April 24, she committed one of her most recent offenses at the TK Maxx in the Westmorland Retail Park in Cramlington.
CCTV showed Liddle exiting the store with items worth £1,500 while sporting a cap pulled down low to hide her features.
The force area, which spans more than 2,000 square miles in the northeast of England, from the Scottish border to County Durham and from the Pennines to the coast, is home to the tightest regulations to date.
Liddle, a resident of Newcastle, is prohibited by the order from going into any local stores other than a pharmacy, a supermarket, and a clothes store.
She may be arrested and given a jail sentence if she violates the terms and conditions.
