The shopping environment in New York City is unquestionably renowned. Its glittering concrete avenues, which have been the country’s undisputed retail hub since the late 1800s, are brimming with upscale flagship stores, vintage department stores, and trendy independent boutiques. Nevertheless, few tourists from out of town go past the chain stores in Herald Square, Rockefeller Center, and 5th Avenue.
“If you only go [there], you’re missing the special gems,” said Erin Walsh, a longtime New Yorker who styles immaculate Hollywood stars like Selena Gomez and Anne Hathaway. Walsh loves New York City just as much as she loves shopping. Her words, “I love New York so much,” “I feel like when you live there, it becomes not just a part of your identity, but energetically, your heart starts to beat with it.”
