Las Vegas police said that volunteers in a search and rescue team found the mirrored object in the Nevada Desert National Wildlife Refuge, not far from Gass Peak.
Authorities have stated that they anticipate social media users will attempt to unravel the enigma as they are unsure of the origin of the monolith.
Las Vegas police posted a photo of the find on the social media site X and wrote, “Well, we see a lot of strange things when people go hiking, like not packing enough water or being unprepared for the weather, but look at this! This was observed over the weekend by (LV Search and Rescue).
The observation comes after a number of unexplained, dazzling columns have appeared all around the planet since at least 2020.
Deep in the Utah desert, a metal monolith measuring about 12 feet and resembling the one in Las Vegas was found in November of that same year.
Because of how far away it was, officials delayed disclosing its location for concern that people would become lost or stuck trying to find it.
Sightings in Romania, central California, and on downtown Las Vegas’ renowned Fremont Street ensued.
