The privately owned hangar was being built as part of a project worth $6.2 million (£4.9 million) by a company that provides maintenance and private aircraft charters. The incident’s cause is being looked at, according to officials.
According to officials, the incident occurred on the grounds of Boise Airport on Wednesday at approximately 5 p.m. and injured nine other people.
At nearby hospitals, five injured people are receiving serious care.
Ada County Paramedics, Gowen Field Fire Department, Boise Police, and Boise Fire Department all responded to the scene.
Aaron Hummel, the operations chief of the Boise Fire Department, stated, “There was a catastrophic collapse of a metal structure at a construction site tonight.”
“First responders arrived to a chaotic scene and set about securing and rescuing casualties.
“The Boise Airport, city of Boise, and all first responders extend their deepest sympathies to those impacted.”
He claimed that everyone at the scene has been verified as safe, and the reason for the “large-scale collapse” is being looked into.
“I don’t know what caused it, but I can tell you it was a pretty global collapse,” he stated.
According to him, certain casualties were on an elevated platform or hoist when the structure collapsed, necessitating specialized rescue operations.
He verified that during the incident, a crane also collapsed.
