Originally created in 1917 by King George V to honor exceptional contributions to the war effort, it now honors the labor of individuals from all backgrounds.
The crowd consisted of about 2,000 individuals who are recipients of royal honors from the UK and Commonwealth, including MBEs and OBEs.
Within the Order of the British Empire, the Queen holds the title of Grand Master and the King is the Sovereign.
It follows the King’s first investiture at Windsor in five months, and his first since being diagnosed with cancer.
