The Lords’ Conduct Committee has suggested that Conservative Baroness Meyer be placed on three weeks of suspension for her remarks, which were considered to be “related to race” harassment.
In addition, Lady Meyer received criticism for uninvitedly caressing a black MP’s hair.
She apologized for both events after first denying making the remarks.
The committee also suggested that former Labour peer Lord Stone of Blackheath be suspended for six months for bullying after referring to security personnel as “stupid” and “thick.”
A complaint that Lady Meyer used the pejorative phrase twice to refer to Lord Dholakia during a cab ride during a February visit to Rwanda with the Joint Committee on Human Rights of the parliament was upheld by the committee.
