Zoolander needed a long presentation, whereas Ben Stiller’s Meet the Fockers managed to avoid an R rating by a clever move.
The movie was headed for an R rating rather than a PG-13 since Fockers sounds a lot like a profanity. During his latest interview on Hot Ones, Stiller disclosed that the film’s executives had to locate someone with the name Focker to demonstrate that it was a legitimate name and not merely a play on the popular expression.
The comic said, “Oh, I think that is true,” to the report that they had discovered a person by the name of Focker. “Yes, I believe it was a PG-13. They also believed that it was too near to “f—er.”
