LAHORE: In response to the breakdown of talks with the coalition government, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) requested authorization to commemorate a “Black Day” by holding a public meeting in Lahore on February 8.
In an application to the deputy commissioner’s office, the opposition party requested permission from the local government to hold a public event at the Minar-e-Pakistan ground, also called Iqbal Park, the following month.
According to the application, which News was able to collect in copy form, Ali Ijaz Buttar, a PTI politician, and Punjab Assembly opposition leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bachar will be leading the next power show.
Speaking to reporters outside the DC office, PTI leader Aliya Hamza said her party requested authorization to commemorate “Youm-e-Siyah [Black Day]” on February 8.
