In a lawsuit filed last week in Sacramento Superior Court, former chief of staff Chad Condit of Marie Alvarado-Gil accused the senator and the California State Senate of discriminating against her in violation of employment laws.
According to Mr. Condit’s 39-page lawsuit, which News was able to view, Ms. Alvarado-Gil groomed him and demanded sexual favors from him throughout his work.
Mr. Condit claims he had three herniated discs in his back on the previous occasion, when he claims he was forced to perform a sex act on the senator in the back of a car.
Ognian Gavrilov, who is speaking on behalf of Ms. Alvarado-Gil, told POLITICO that the charges are “without any corroboration of evidence.”
The complaint states that following his loss in a primary election for the California assembly, Mr. Condit met Ms. Alvarado-Gil in 2022. After winning the state senatorial election that year, she hired Mr. Condit to be her chief of staff.
