KARACHI: In two distinct operations on Tuesday at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) detained eight individuals who were attempting to go overseas using forged passports.
According to a statement from an FIA official, the agency detained at least five individuals in its initial operation who attempted to enter Saudi Arabia under the pretense of doing Umrah.
The representative said that they were deemed suspect throughout the immigration clearance process.
According to an initial inquiry, the accused were planning to fly to the Gulf country and beg there.
In a separate operation, three passengers who were attempting to enter Azerbaijan using forged documents were apprehended by the FIA. On a study visa, they were traveling by plane to the nation in Eurasia.
