Chiva, a town close to Valencia, received more than a year’s worth of rain in eight hours, and at least 95 people have perished as a result of the country’s intense rains.
La Liga and the clubs have asked the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to postpone all of the region’s top two professional levels’ games.
This also features Malaga’s trip to Levante in the Segunda division, Castellon vs. RC Ferrol, CD Eldense vs. SD Huesca, and Villarreal vs. Rayo Vallecano in the top flight.
The RFEF’s competition committee must make a final decision on Thursday, but the federation has suggested that all non-professional matches be postponed as well.
At every game that does go place over the next two weekends, there will be a minute’s silence.
The action follows the postponement of Valencia’s Wednesday encounter against Parla Escuela and numerous other Copa del Rey games.
