The verdict overturns an earlier ruling by a Georgia court that let Willis to continue working on the case despite having a love relationship with one of the prosecutors she had recruited.
In Georgia, Trump and a number of other co-defendants were accused with plotting to reverse the Republican Party’s 2020 election defeat to Joe Biden.
In its ruling, the court of appeals stated, “After carefully considering the trial court’s findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify Willis and her office.”
A new prosecutor will be assigned to the case against Trump and his co-defendants because the court’s ruling did not dismiss the charge against them.
