Yousuf Raza Gilani, the chairman of the Senate, showered Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who lost his life in a helicopter crash, with accolades on Tuesday.
Details indicate that Gilani paid the Iranian envoy Reza Amiri Moghaddam a visit to the Iranian Embassy in the capital and expressed his sympathies for the incident.
Gilani has conveyed the sorrow and grief of the Pakistani people and government over Ebrahim Raisi’s passing.
“The entire Pakistani nation is sad and stands with the Iranian people in this difficult time,” he stated.
“One outstanding leader has left the Muslim world. Gilani declared, “President Raisi was a true friend of Pakistan.”
On behalf of the government and people, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif separately expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Iranian people.
