Guy Pearce opened out about his feelings after being nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2018 Golden Globes for his role in The Brutalist.
Pearce acknowledged in an interview with The Courier Mall that he wasn’t sure how important prizes were for identifying brilliance.
“I am a bit confused, I suppose,” he said, People have won prizes, and I’ve wondered, ‘Really?’ So I’ve watched others lose and thought, ‘Really?’
Furthermore, he recognized that he would be overjoyed if he won, but he was unsure if his performance in the historical drama merited the nomination.
“I believe as long as I felt that what I’d done was worthy of it,” he continued. I once received an award.
