As part of the Honhaar Scholarship Program, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced plans to give 30,000 scholarships to deserving students throughout the province.
Funded by a budget of Rs130 billion, the project intends to support students in 68 different fields.
Several colleges have set up information desks to help applicants as the registration deadline draws near.
The scholarships will cover four or five years of tuition for students attending Punjab’s fifty state universities.
Academic achievement will determine eligibility; matriculation marks will be weighted 30%, and intermediate marks will be weighted 70%.
