When his girlfriend decided to turn to the internet for assistance, a little-known Chinese actor had been missing in Thailand for two days.
“We have no choice but to borrow the power of the internet to amplify our voices,” Wang Xing’s girlfriend posted on Weibo, a Chinese social media site, on January 5.
After being reposted by some of China’s most well-known celebrities, such as singer Lay Zhang and actor Qin Lan, the petition went viral.
Wang, 31, had the interest of his administration and the nation.
People were relieved to learn that Wang had been saved from a fraud center in Myanmar on January 7.
