Hardy is an experienced fighter who competed mostly in boxing before branching out into mixed martial arts.
Since losing by unanimous decision to undefeated featherweight champion Amanda Serrano in August, the 42-year-old has not competed.

“A portion of your brain dies after a concussion and cannot be recovered. Can you picture that?
“I’ve experienced too much brain damage in the last ten years. I will not be able to see if I take any more. No jumping rope, jogging, running, or being struck in the head.”
