Ben Daniels, a fellow actor and his spouse, revealed his passing and paid homage to the “kindest, most generous, spirited, and loving human being.”.
Daniels, 59, described Gelder as his “absolute rock” for the course of their more than three decades together.
The British actor, who portrayed Kevan Lannister in the popular fantasy drama series, passed away on Monday shortly after 1pm, according to Daniels. He was diagnosed with bile duct cancer last December.
The celebrity tweeted: “It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder.”
