Ziad Makary, Lebanon’s minister of information, called Israel’s strike on the southern region of the country, which killed three journalists, a “war crime” for deliberately targeting journalists.
“The Israeli enemy betrayed the journalists while they were sleeping by waiting for their nightly break. Given that there were eighteen journalists there from seven media outlets, this was an assassination that had been planned and executed beforehand. In a post on X, Makary declared, “This is a war crime.”
Separate Israeli airstrikes destroyed buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut and killed three journalists in eastern Lebanon, according to Lebanese official media on Friday.
