Richard Gere has acknowledged that he required some persuasion to appear in the popular romantic comedy Pretty Woman.
“I’m so proud of that movie and proud of the work process that we did to create that movie,” Gere, who co-stars with Julia Roberts in the film, stated on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. In addition to being proud, I’m grateful for that film since it gave me the opportunity to accomplish a lot of other things.
Gere claimed that although he initially “didn’t understand” the movie, “there was no character.” After reading this, I concluded that it wasn’t for me.
He went on to say that he considered his character, Edward Lewis, a successful businessman, to be “just a suit.”
Gere also remembers feeling anxious before to meeting director Garry.
