Poonjo Bheel, a committee member, made a stunning revelation during a recent hearing of the Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources. She accused dacoits of Katcha of unlawfully selling water from the Sindh province.
This assertion caused a heated discussion, especially when the divisive Kala Bagh Dam topic was brought up.
Poonjo Bheel expressed his frustration during the meeting, which was presided over by Senator Shahadat Awan, about what he called widespread water theft in Sindh that has left the province’s farmers struggling to make ends meet.
Bheel stressed that in spite of the theft, no one has taken anything to resolve the matter, and the federation and other provinces have declined to accept accountability.
