As it looks into the issue, Macy’s, the company that owns Bloomingdales and the makeup brand Bluemercury, announced that it would be delaying its quarterly sales report.
According to the shop, the individual was in charge of monitoring costs associated with the delivery of small packages. It went on to say that it thought the individual had acted alone.
Additionally, Macy’s stated that the impact was minimal and would not have an effect on its payments to other businesses.
As it began preparing its financial statement earlier this month, Macy’s said that it had found a problem with shipping costs.
According to Macy’s, a “single employee with responsibility for small package delivery expense accounting intentionally made erroneous accounting accrual entries” beginning around the end of 2021, according to the results of an inquiry and forensic examination.
